Trip 5. Nature Park of Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca

Day 1: We leave Benlloch town towards the sea coastline, riding through an agricultural area (vineyards, almond and olive trees) first, and climbing afterwards to a mountain range that runs parallel to the coast. After having a late lunch nearby the beach, we ride through the Nature Park of Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca. There we will enjoy an awesome riding along the beach and the wetlands and marshes of the park, with the possibility of bird watching activities.

Day 2: We ride back to Benlloch following the Pas de la Fusta trail (“the wood trail”). We will taste a rustic aperitif in the country house Masía del Quartico, with ethnic dishes and Castellón certificate of origin wines.

Day 1: We leave Benlloch town towards the sea coastline. We first ride through an agricultural area with vineyards, almond and olive trees. Half way to the beach, we ride on a mountain range that runs parallel to the coast, where we will eat a rustic aperitif. We ride downhill towards the beach, where we will have dinner.

Day 2: We spend the day riding in the Nature Park of Prat de Cabanes-Torreblanca. We will enjoy an awesome riding along the beach and the wetlands and marshes of the park, with the possibility of bird watching activities.

Trip 8. The coastal Nature Parks route: Prat de Cabanes – Serra d´Irta

We ride a round-trip route through the last unspoiled mountain range by the Mediterranean Sea, enjoying the awesome views over the sea and the gorgeous Peñíscola, “the city in the sea”. We will have a rustic aperitif with ethnic dishes and Castellón certificate of origin wines. We will ride back to Alcossebre along a path that runs parallel to the seashore and back to Benlloch by car.

 

Trip 9. The coastal Nature Parks route and winery: Prat de Cabanes – Serra d´Irta

Trip 10. Saint Peter pilgrimage

Difficulty level: high (ONE OF OUR TOUGHEST TRIPS!)

Duration: 3 days

Time on horseback: 6 h daily

When: first weekend of May

No. participants: min 3 – max 6

Days1 and 2: We ride from Benlloch to Catí town following mountain and field trails. At the top of the mountain range, we will enjoy wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea and the surroundings. We ride through very different Mediterranean landscapes, from almond and olive tree fields to wild Mediterranean forest. Good riding skills are required, since we will ride on trails through very rough terrain. Good food and wine are guaranteed!

Day 3: We join the ancient Sant Pere (Saint Peter) pilgrimage, which runs from Catí town to Sant Pere hermitage, close to Castellfort town. We will ride through mountains covered with Mediterranean woods and will follow hidden tough trails. The pilgrimage is 26 km long and 600 m in height difference. We eat a rustic lunch half way. Do not miss the chance of experiencing this unique Spanish tradition! We will also visit beautiful chapels and meet kind and warm people.
